Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. has announced plans to establish its inaugural Asia-Pacific Research and Development (R&D) Centre in Bengaluru, India.
This initiative, unveiled during the CPX Bangkok 2025 conference, aims to drive innovation in cybersecurity solutions while strengthening global product development and talent acquisition.
The Bengaluru centre underscores Check Point’s commitment to leveraging India’s burgeoning technology ecosystem, which is recognized as a global powerhouse in the tech industry.
Ruma Balasubramanian, President of APAC & Japan at Check Point, emphasized the importance of this expansion, stating, “India is a global technology powerhouse, and our new R&D Centre in Bengaluru reflects our deep commitment to harnessing top-tier cyber security talent from the region.”
The establishment of this centre not only expands Check Point’s operational footprint but also lays the groundwork for advanced security innovations that will benefit customers around the globe.
This move further solidifies India’s role as a critical player in global cybersecurity and digital innovation.
The Bengaluru R&D Centre will concentrate on developing key product lines such as Check Point Quantum, which offers enterprise-grade network security.
Additionally, there will be a strong emphasis on secure access service edge (SASE), an area identified for strategic growth.
The facility is designed to support the next-generation SASE network architecture, enabling scalable growth while enhancing Check Point’s existing full mesh architecture that currently spans over 80 global points of presence (PoPs).
This infrastructure is expected to significantly improve Check Point’s ability to deliver secure and high-performance connectivity for enterprises worldwide.
The new centre is located within a 42,700-square-foot office that opened last year and stands as Check Point’s second-largest global facility after its headquarters in Tel Aviv.
Initially accommodating over 100 engineers, the centre is designed with scalability in mind to adapt to evolving business needs.
Nataly Kremer, Chief Product Officer at Check Point, described the Bengaluru R&D Centre as a pivotal milestone in the company’s global innovation strategy.
As cyber threats continue to evolve in sophistication, this new team will be instrumental in developing next-generation security solutions that ensure robust protection for customers.
Rajeev Koripalli has been appointed Vice President of Research & Development for India.
With extensive experience leading large-scale R&D teams across networking, security, wireless, and cloud technologies at companies like Cisco Systems and Juniper Networks, Koripalli’s leadership is expected to drive the success of the Bengaluru centre.
Once operational, the Bengaluru R&D Centre will play a crucial role in AI-driven threat prevention and security management enhancements.
By fostering local expertise and innovation, Check Point aims to contribute to economic growth while delivering world-class cybersecurity solutions globally.
