Facebook’s Twitter and Instagram Accounts Hacked

Facebook’s social media accounts were taken down temporarily by the OurMine Hacker group on Friday afternoon.

The hacker group gained access to the Twitter and Instagram accounts for Facebook and Messenger. The tweets are posted using Khoros.

Khoros is an online social media management platform that helps companies to interact with customers and users.

Twitter confirmed the hack, as soon as the twitter spotted the issue and the compromised account has been locked and the accounts restored in less than 30 minutes.

Twitter said that the compromise was happened due to the third-party platform

Here is the statement posted by Twitter, “Confirming the account was hacked through a third-party platform. As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we locked the compromised account and are working closely with our partners at Facebook to restore them.”

Verge observed multiple posts from the hacker group and they get deleted quickly, here is the tweet’s posted with the official Facebook and Messenger on Twitter.

Also, the Instagram accounts of the official Facebook and Messenger were also compromised.

Here is the official message posted by Facebook regarding the breach;

“Some of our corporate social accounts were briefly hacked but we have secured and restored access”.

OurMine hacker group already compromised Jack’s Twitter account In 2016, and send out a message about “testing your security”. this is the second time his account targeted by other hackers.
