Multiple QNAP Flaws Let attackers to Access and Read Sensitive Data

NAS device maker QNAP released software updates for its network-attached storage (NAS) products on Friday. While this updated software package is focused on patching multiple security flaws. All these flaws could enable the threat actors to get access and steal sensitive data.

Among all the detected vulnerabilities, there is one that could allow the threat actors to take control of a compromised system, and it’s tracked as “CVE-2022-27588” with a CVSS score of 9.8.

While the QVR 5.1.6 build 20220401 and later versions are said to have patched this vulnerability. In the event of exploitation of this serious vulnerability, a remote attacker would be able to execute arbitrary commands on a QVR system that was vulnerable.

Among the video surveillance solutions QNAP offers, QVR is one of them. QVR is a video surveillance system that runs on QNAP devices and is not dependent on any additional software.
