A new report shows 69 percent of employees shares password in their workplaces and more than 51 percent respondents reused their password at least five times.
The study was conducted by yubico and Ponemon to understand the beliefs and behaviors of password management practices both in the home and the workplace.
According to the report, more than Sixty-three percent of respondents are most concern about the privacy issue over the last two years. More than 51 percent respondents experienced phishing attack at home and 44 percent respondents experienced phishing attack at work.
Around 51 percent respondents admit they have reused the password for more than five times for their business and personal accounts.
69 percent admits that they shared the password with their colleagues in the workplace to access accounts and 47% of respondents believe the employee information needs to be protected with authentication methods.
The reports show the privacy concerns increased between the users, the concerns growing with users because of government surveillance, a victim of a data breach and use of mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets.
Nearly half of the respondents didn’t change the way how they manage the passwords, 47 percent respondents started to using the stronger password and 43 percent started changing the password at regular intervals.
57 percent of respondents prefer to have an alternative for the private key and 56 percentage not like to have the password for login with their account.
Fifty-seven percent of respondents say their colleagues are not careful to avoid phishing scams, putting their organizations at risk for such attacks as credential theft and ransomware.
Passwords are the strings of cards used to verify the identity of the user, when the passwords are extracted they are a free simple and viable approach to gain access to unapproved individuals accounts.
Recently a massive data of around 773 million data contains email addresses and passwords were breached and circulated in hacker forums.
