A Man who behind the organized cybercrime and defaced more than 11,000 Websites including Various Military, Government and Business Websites Around the World have been arrested in California.
Billy Ribeiro Anderson – A Computer hacker who was actively involved with various cybercrime with Online Pseudonym “Alfabetovirtual” and penetrate various networks and website using his extraordinary Computer skills.
Anderson was charged with 3 various cybercrime including fraud for obtaining unauthorized access to and committing defacements of the websites for the Combating Terrorism Center at the United States Military Academy.
An arrest has been accomplished at his residence in Torrance, California then later he presented in federal court in Los Angeles, California.
U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said: “Billy Anderson allegedly used specialized computer skills and knowledge to hack important U.S. military and government websites, as well as over 11,000 other websites around the world. Thanks to the outstanding work of the FBI’s cyber squads, criminals who compromise the integrity of government websites and network infrastructure will continue to be investigated vigorously and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Since 2015, Anderson committed various unauthorized access to, and committing more than 11,000 defacements around the World under the Alfabetovirtual.
Mid of 2015, He compromised a website owned by the NYC Comptroller with the same pseudonym and content was modified as “Hacked by AlfabetoVirtual,” “#FREEPALESTINE” and “#FREEGAZA.”
This Website has been hacked by exploiting the vulnerabilities that associated with the version of a plugin being used on the website.
Later on oct, 2016, Again he defaced the website of Combating Terrorism Center and modified the content as “Hacked by AlfabetoVirtual.”
According to U.S Gov Justice, The defacement was performed by an unauthorized administrative account that exploited a known cross-site script vulnerability, thereby enabling ANDERSON to bypass access controls and target an internal Combating Terrorism Center website address.
Apart from this, Anderson penetrate thousands of web servers located around the world by installing the malicious code on victim web servers that provide an administrative level access to him and finally he defaced those servers or maintain the persistence to steal the sensitive information.
This operation successfully done the FBI’s cyber squads, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Officials said.
