Critical SonicWall Network Security Manager Flaw Let Attackers Perform OS Command Injection

SonicWall is a security manager that enables the users to organize all firewall services error-free, and later check all the threats and risks that came across the ecosystem of the firewall.

However, the security experts at SonicWall have detected recently a flaw in SonicWall Network Security Manager that allows the threat actors to perform the OS command injections.

While SonicWall has informed all its customers about this threat and asserted that each and every customer should patch a post-authentication vulnerability immediately without wasting any further time.

The post-authentication vulnerability puts a lot of influence on-premises versions of the Network Security Manager, so it will be quite easy for the customers to get a proper solution in the multi-tenant firewall management.

Hackers abused Several SonicWall zero-days

However, this is not the first time when SonicWall is being targetted by the threat actors, as there are various SonicWall zero-day vulnerabilities that have been targetted by the threat actors this year.

SonicWall keeps updating all its patches from time to time, that’s why it has patched an actively exploited zero-day in the month of February. Not only this but a Mandiant threat expert has tracked that a strong threat actor has attacked a zero-day in SonicWall SMA 100 Series VPN appliances. 

Apart from all this thing, the same zero-day bug was again abused in attacks when the threat actors are targeting SonicWall’s internal systems in the month of  January.

Soon after January, SonicWall has again patched three zero-days that are exploited in the wild, and all these zero-days are continuously hitting the Email Security (ES) products of the company.

But the company claimed that they have not encountered any severe attacks and are hoping to bring all the reliable patches so that the customers won’t have to face any unwanted problems. That’s why the company has urged each and every customer to keep patching their devices from time to time.
