A Career of Innovation and Leadership

Amit Yoran joined Tenable in 2016, steering the company through a remarkable period of transformation and growth.

This included the company’s successful initial public offering in 2018, which solidified Tenable’s reputation as a market leader.

Before his tenure at Tenable, Yoran held prominent roles across the cybersecurity and technology sectors, including serving as President of RSA and as the founding CEO of NetWitness a platform that revolutionized network monitoring and security.

Yoran’s career reflected his steadfast commitment to innovation and his lifelong mission to strengthen cybersecurity frameworks and solutions.

Interim Leadership in Place

Yoran had taken a medical leave of absence beginning December 5, 2024, during which the Tenable Board appointed CFO Steve Vintz and COO Mark Thurmond as Co-CEOs to ensure the company’s continued stability and strategic progress.

The company stated that this leadership structure would remain in place as the Board conducts a comprehensive search for a permanent CEO, considering both internal and external candidates. In the interim, Art Coviello will serve as the Chairman of the Board.

Despite the adversity, Tenable confirmed strong financial performance for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year.

In a statement, the company said it expects to meet or exceed the financial guidance provided in its October 30, 2024, press release, underscoring the resilience of its operational and strategic execution during the transition.

Amit Yoran’s passing is a significant loss, not just for Tenable but for the entire cybersecurity industry.

The company extended its deepest condolences to his family and expressed its immense gratitude for his contributions. “Our thoughts are with Amit’s family during this difficult time,” the company stated. Details regarding funeral arrangements will be shared at a later date.

Amit Yoran’s unparalleled leadership, vision, and dedication will continue to inspire the company and the broader cybersecurity community in the years to come.
