India Computer Emergency Response Team reported over 15779 Indian websites hacked during Jan-Nov 2018 and this year less breaches were reported when compared to the previous years.
Indian Parliament informed that Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and 33,147 websites were hacked in 2016 and 30,067 websites were hacked 2017.
Cybercriminals continuously targeting websites belongs to India using various vulnerabilities due to lack a security implementation.
In this case, Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) issued a serious alert regarding the latest sophisticated cyber threat in various form and organization need to continuously focus on their operation and enable the proper cyber security assessment.
IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad submit a written reply in parliament stats that the government has taken following measures to enhance the cybersecurity.
According to the data maintained by the National cybercrime Bureau total of 9622, 11592 and 12,317 cyber crime cases were registered.
Other financial fraud cases such as point of sale system attack and also compromise the ATM, Cards, internet backing frauds of 3, 14, 16 were registered during the year of 2016, 2017, 2018.
“This includes cases registered under the Information Technology (IT) Act, 2000 and related sections of Indian Penal Code and Special & Local Laws involving computer as medium/target,” Minister of State for Electronics and IT SS Ahluwalia said.
According to gadgets now“Further, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has registered a total of 1,191, 1,372, 2,059 and 921 cases of frauds involving ATM/Debit Cards, credit cards and Internet Banking frauds reported (amount involved Rs 1 lakh and above) during the year 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 (up to September 30, 2018) respectively,” Ahluwalia said.
